Sam was born and raised in the Okanagan Valley of British Columbia. She has an Advanced Diploma in Digital Filmmaking with a distinction in Cinematography from The Centre for Arts and Technology, and is currently working towards a Writing and Publishing Diploma from Okanagan College—both relatively to her mother's dismay. But what can she say? That girl years for the arts.

Throughout her career, she's been a movie theatre manager, swim coach, gelato scooper, art teacher, camera operator/cinematographer, freelance photographer, cannabis marketing coordinator, human scarecrow... the list could go on, but her passion lies in storytelling. The first story she ever wrote was a hand-penned epic fantasy about a young girl getting swept into a world of faeries and talking wolves. The fifth-grade teacher she forced into reading it gave her a green star sticker, and she's been hooked ever since.

She's only slightly older now than she was then, but her passion has never soured. Whether she's telling stories through a script or page or camera lens, nothing brings Sam greater joy than connecting emotionally with others through her work.
